R&B fans hoping to see former couple Rihanna and Chris Brown romantically linked back up in light of recent gossip will have to keep dreaming as a rep has stepped forward to clear the air. Although both in France over the weekend, a Brown rep claims there is no connection between them.
A rep for Chris Brown tells Hollyscoop exclusively that CB is in France for business, not pleasure. "CB is in France to shoot a music video for Swizz Beatz album and Ludacris is in it. It's Swizz's song. Karrueche is there with him...They never broke up." "He is not on her (Rihanna's) yacht. There is no Rihanna connection," says Chris' rep. (Hollyscoop)
Speculation on their perceived hook-up started last weekcourtesy of some Twitter remarks.
While a rep for Brown denies the former couple have any dates set up while they each spend time abroad, they did both begin tweeting about being in the vicinity of Cannes mere hours apart from one another on July 22. Ri shared, "Touch down baby, help me pick out my fit," while Brown's tweet focused on Ludacris flying a helicopter. Adding fuel to the speculation is that both singers had been spotted hanging out on Magic Johnson's yacht, though not at the same time. (MTV)
Earlier in the month, Brown did send his condolencesto Rihanna after her grandmother passed away.
Following the death of the "We Found Love" singer's grandmother, Ciara "Dolly" Brathwaite, Rihanna headed to Twitter Saturday, posting touching photos and tweets about her grandmother, whom she called "Gran Gran Dolly" after she lost her battle with cancer this week, according to Gossip Cop. "Goodbye ?#grangranDOLLY get your beauty rest until I see you," the singer wrote, among other things. Chris Brown soon chimed in, tweeting, "Praying for family and the lost loved one. She was like my grandmother. Love you GRAN GRAN! RIP" (E! Online)
Recently, RiRi admitted since her 2009 break-up with Brown she has resistedletting people get too close to her.
"[I'm] rebellious through my music, through my fashion, tattoos, and my hair. I have been conservative in my love life. ... It's pretty much nonexistent. ... If I come across someone who I find really cool, I'll hang out. But the minute I find that we're getting too close I just -- I don't let people in. ... When I was in love, I fell so hard. I was really, really, really in love. The way it made me feel was priceless. And in a blink of an eye, my whole life changed. ... Everything that I knew was different. I never thought I'd feel that pain in my life. I'm afraid of feeling that again." (Harper's Bazaar)
