Fabolous is hoping to tackle some new themes on his sixth studio album, ‘Loso’s Way 2,’ including his relationship with his son. The rapper was recently interviewed by MTV and said that he was hoping the album would allow him to evolve musically and personally.
While Fab has previously included a wide range of more serious topics on his previous albums, the rapper stayed away from personal topics until the release of his 2009 album ‘Loso’s Way’ which included ‘Stay,’ a song driven by the rapper’s love of his son Johan. “With the album, I’m looking to evolve as well. Musically, everything I do, I want to keep growing. I think people have seen my growth album to album. From ‘Ghetto Fabolous’ to ‘Street Dreams to Real Talk’ to ‘From Nothin’ to Somethin” to ‘Loso’s Way,’ and now they will continue to see that with ‘Loso’s Way 2′,” the rapper said.
Fabolous was clear that the role his son plays in his life will certainly have an impact on the new record, although he added that the album was still a work-in-process. “It’s all a process for me; I’m in a different place. My last album I was having my first son and now my son is almost 4 years old, so these are processes and you get to talk about those things. I will share them on the next album,” Fab explained before adding, “Children change a lot of stuff in your life. They change the way you look at things and do things. And I think the music will reflect that, too.”
The rapper’s personal life has been increasingly covered in the press since 2009 and spilled onto the small screen when his son’s mother, Emily Bustamante, appeared on VH1′s ‘Love & Hip Hop’ where she exposed details about her relationship with Fabolous. The rapper spoke about the unwanted coverage in an interview with Angie Martinez on Hot 97 saying, “It’s just not my cup of tea. It’s one side of what’s going on. I don’t bash it, but I’m not really in support of it, either. I don’t think it depicts me the way I am. It just depicts a one-sided version of what’s going on.”
Fans may have to wait sometime to hear ‘Loso’s Way 2,’ which has already been pushed back several times, but the rapper did put out a new mixtape to hold over his listeners earlier this week. ‘There Is No Competition III: Death Comes In 3′s‘ includes 15 tracks with features from artists including Meek Mill, Trey Songz, Lloyd Banks and several others.
